I feel like I’ve been waiting for-ever for this announcement.
Beyonce and J are finalllllly preggo!
image from People.comMy love affair with the power couple that is Beyonce and Jay-Z began ages ago. My Hertzy and I would get ready for our college weekend shenanigans belting out B like we were her very own back-up singers and rapping along with Hova sounding even whiter than two JMU girls could possibly sound. Road trip mixes are still filled with Madame B and sprinkled with random J jams.
They are music royalty and talented beyond belief. Can you even imagine what kind of skills that baby is going to come out of the womb with?
Now to figure out how to arrange that play date…
While B will surely shoot to the top of my list of favorite celeb mommies, here are the ladies I currently have mom-crushes on.
Nicole Richie
image from nicolerichie.comThe laid back attitude, the boho-chic style, the 2 adorable kids, the skank-to-class transformation (I’m sure she’d like to forget The Simple Life more than any of us…), what’s not to love?
Jessica Alba
image from Yahoo MoviesRecap to last year when I fantasized over Jess and I lunching and playing matchmaker for our kids? Well now that she has a new little girl that’s closer to C’s age (and C is officially a boy…as his gender was still TBD when I imagined Honor marrying into the family…), I feel like our chances are better for us to share grandbabies one day, right? Jessica is fashionable and beautiful and still seems like a laid-back and fun mom!
And look how good she looks two weeks after giving birth? Want to see how I looked two weeks after giving birth? No. You don’t.
Kendra Wilkinson Baskett
image from Kendra’s websiteI get mocked a lot for my Kendra obsession. Yes, I watch her reality show on E!. (Although in my defense, I watch everyone’s reality show on E!…my husband loves it…) She was living the dream in the Playboy mansion then found her man, bounced on Hef, got married, got pregnant, struggled with her new mommyhood and the body that came along with it, and has come out on top – gorgeous and fun with an adorable son and a solid marriage.
I feel like she’s me – minus the relationship with an 80-year old, the platinum hair, the marriage to a pro athlete, the money, the fame, the fake boobs…
Ok so she’s not me, but J and I also fell in love and did everything at warp speed and I totally relate to that pesky PPD she experienced. She has a reality show and I sometimes pretend I have one when I’m doing mundane tasks around my house. She’s silly and makes me laugh and I think we could be friends.
Gwyneth Paltrow
I struggle a bit with even keeping Gwyneth in my celeb mommy crush list because her life is 100% unattainable, but her recent make-up free pic at her book signing won me back. Married to Coldplay’s singer? Guest-star appearances on Glee? Dinners with Jay-Z and Beyonce? Her organic, all-natural lifestyle? I’m too cheap, lazy and un-famous to even come close to all that.
So I subscribe to her newsletter and live vicariously through all the things she recommends we do, buy, see and go.
I do have her to thank for introducing me to Tracy Anderson who I am completely obsessed with. While Tracy isn’t taping custom workouts for me, I have sweated my way through many, many days of Gwyneth’s personal Iron Man workouts and my arms and butt couldn’t be more excited.
